What we'll check on every MacBook

When MacBook trade-ins go live, every machine that arrives at our Paddington bench will go through an 8-point inspection: battery cycle count and condition via System Settings → Battery, full-screen pixel sweep for dead spots, every-key keyboard test, trackpad and Touch Bar (where present), Thunderbolt / USB-C / MagSafe continuity, fan and thermal cycle, SSD SMART read, and iCloud removal / Find My Mac verification. The whole process takes about 25 minutes per MacBook. The offer we publish on /track will be the offer we pay — same calm, transparent rule we use today for iPhone and iPad.
